Averaging around 140 alpacas, Spring Grove Alpaca Ranch is one of the largest alpaca ranches in Pennsylvania. The farm is owned by Carl Troop (Southern Lancaster County's very well known cow veterinarian) and it is run by farm manager, Erica Kell. We started out with 18 which after a few years turned into 180 and now we fluctuate from 130-160. Not just quantity but quality also. All our herd sires have impressive bloodlines and have proven their worth with show winning crias.
Despite being a large farm without too much hands-on time, most of our alpacas are well-behaved and very personable! When you come to the farm you'll no doubt be greeted by our very own PR boy: Lil' Tink!
We dry lot the majority of our alpacas, although some do have access to a pasture a few hours a day. Health Records are kept on all of them and they are usually all kept up to date on vaccinations, teeth trimmings, feet trimmings and dewormings. Our females have their crias starting from the end of March and stretching into the beginning of November. And we shear, usually, in May!
Farm visits are always a welcome thing: expected or not!
If you ever are interested in setting a time to visit, shoot an email or give a call! We have no absolute set hours for the farm.
All our females are ARI registered, as are our herd sires!
If any questions or inquiries, feel free to email or call!

He is a lilac, half-accoyo, light rose grey and you cannot go wrong with this boy! 4 blues and a reserve champion banner, all within his first year of being shown! Savage's crias are definitely something to be impressed by. He continues to throw gorgeous colored and fleeced crias! Call and reserve a breeding!!!
